Wrap It Up: Weekly Link List

Well…

This past week was a wash.

I was down with the worst sinus infection I’ve ever had (and I haven’t even really had many).  A week later and five days of antibiotics and steroids, two visits to urgent care, and one visit to an ENT and I can finally say I’m starting to feel somewhat human again (thanks, in no small part, to the occasional pain killer).  The added stress of being too ill to prepare to leave for vacation this week (and praying I’d feel well enough to fly) turned me into a intermittent, crumbling pile of tears.

I took absolutely no photos and cooked absolutely nothing.  I have recipes cued up for future posts, but even doing a little computer work to change the dates so that something would post wasn’t an option.  That’s how sick I’ve been…I couldn’t even imagine opening the computer.

Now…I can finally start panicking looking forward to flying down to the Florida Keys in a couple of days with some good friends for some warm weather, lighter clothes, sunsets, and FOOD!

(This was the fortune I got this past week!).

Love this quote by author James Baldwin from a great article in the NY Times about why reading is important:  “You think your pain and your heartbreak are unprecedented in the history of the world, but then you read. It was books that taught me that the things that tormented me the most were the very things that connected me with all the people who were alive, who had ever been alive.”

I may have shared this already, but here is the official trailer for “The Fault in Our Stars“!  My daughter read this book first, then I tried to read it but couldn’t finish it.  Warning:  heavy duty tear jerker!
